The City of Neosho is pleased to announce the start up of Reverse 911 for Newton County. The Newton County Citizen Notification Partnership Reverse 911 system is an automated community notification tool designed to enhance preparedness and facilitate urgent and necessary outbound communications to citizens during emergent events.
In the event of inclement weather, natural or man made emergencies Newton County Central Dispatch can call the effected area and make the appropriate announcements of what to do. All land lines will be automatically put into the system. If you have an existing land line to your residence or business you do not have to register, but if you use a cellular or VoIP (Voice over IP) and wish to receive information by way of Reverse 911 then you need to register your phone number. As with any system it is important that you monitor other public safety warning systems whenever possible.
