The Neosho Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for crimes that because of their nature may require a more concentrated investigation. We regularly research crime and information within the area to better understand trends that assist us in our investigation.

The Neosho Police Department Criminal Investigations Team is responsible for completing investigations that require special expertise, or due to their complexity cannot be readily completed by a Patrol Officer. Detectives are also involved in specialized crimes such as drug related crimes, organized crime activity, and incidents involving fraud and identity theft. Detectives clear crimes through arrest and recovery of stolen property, execute search warrants and apprehend fugitives.
 
All Neosho Police Detectives start their law enforcement careers as uniformed patrol officers and are assigned to the Criminal Investigations Team based upon knowledge, experience, and investigative ability. The Investigations staff has decades of law enforcement experience and is led by Sergeant Detective Jason Baird. Under his supervision is Detective Mike Whitehead.
